It’s been a little while since a new site has been reviewed for this site and that’s simply because I haven’t seen any others out there worth adding in a while.   Now I’ve been aware of Mingle2.com for quite some time now.  Probably about 18 months, but finally decided to take a closer look.  I know the creator of the site has extensive experience with search engine optimization and was or is a creator of Seomoz.org(Seo site).  I’m also very sure that the creator of Mingle2 has a hand in JustSayHi.com.  Anyway, let’s get to know the dating site…..

So I made a profile.  It was very quick and painless.  Not a ton sections to complete.  Just the basics.  Mingle2 operates really well.  The pages and site flow together nicely and seem to work very well as a whole which is a bit surprising considering the massive amounts of advertisements plastered all over the dating site.  They have Google Adsense, Mate1, JustSayHi, and plenty other  dating site ads up.  This makes me think that the focus of this site isn’t the dating community thats signed up here, but to make a couple extra bucks by driving traffic elsewhere. (This proves my point that the owner is occupied and focused on JustSayHi, not Mingle2)

The features of Mingle2 are basic and not too exciting.  You have your typical search and advanced search, matches, forums, and a mailbox.  That’s really all there is to it.  The best feature would have to be the “Mutual Matches” system.  This is the same as JustSayHi’s match finding method.  You simply scroll through members and check whether or not you are interested in them or not.  If they respond interested, you now have a Mutual Match.

Let’s take a look at the traffic details for this site thanks to Alexa.  Note that this site has been climbing in ranking steadily since about June of 2008 and hasn’t stopped yet.

Plentyoffish.com is a free online dating website that has been around for several years. They have a lot of members and the site has been steadily improving. I posted an ad here to see what the site’s all about and it seems decent for being completely free.

Their slogan is “100% Free. Put away your credit card.” And that’s true. At no point will you be asked to upgrade to a paying membership. The option isn’t even available. The profile can be pretty lengthy if you choose to fill out a couple of their questionnaires. I would recommend that you do if you are serious about finding someone for a serious relationship. If you are after casual dates, than it might not be necessary to spend all that time.

The first survey you are asked to fill out is the 50 question “Chemistry Predictor.” It isn’t too lengthy and will most likely help you in your search for possible matches. The other assessment is very lengthy and time consuming. It’s a 100 question, “Needs Assessment.” I would block off 30 minutes to go through this part.

After you’ve made your profile and filled out the necessary assessments, you are ready to start finding your matches. You can search PlentyofFish profiles by compatibility, location, and several other options. Plentyoffish has tons of members so don’t be afraid to be a tough screener. Once you find likely candidates you can IM them if they’re online, or send messages. As far as I can tell you aren’t limited on how many messages you can send or receive per day. Within the first 10 minutes of having my profile up I already had 2 responses and I hadn’t even put up a picture yet! That’s a good sign and lets you know that the site has members who are actively searching other profiles.

I always like to check out how much traffic dating sites get by looking at Alexa rankings. The lower the number the better. Keep in mind that Google’s Global Alexa ranking is 2 and US Alexa ranking is 1.

I know we’ve previously gone through the online dating site JustSayHi.com, but I wanted to check it out again and see if there had been any changes go a little more in depth to searching for singles on the site.

When I first checked out JustSayHi, I posted an ad pretty quickly and noticed it was a 100% free online dating site. This is still true and I doubt that it will ever change. This is a very clean site. No nude pics, or live sex cams or anything like that here. I would describe JustSayHi as a bridge between sites like Facebook and Match.com or something. Its a very low key introduction to the online dating world which I like. This way, timid singles can have a low pressure site to start testing the waters on and see what it’s like to meet people online for dating purposes.

The first day I joined I sent a messge to 1 girl and pretty quickly got a legit response. Not a bs message or anything like that. So today I want to explore a little more on JustSayHi and see if there seem to be more members, features, or anthing else that we should be aware of.

I remember there being a pretty good number of people on the site last time. So I just searched for females with 50 miles of my ad in a medium sized city in the midwest. I am pretty surprised with the number of responses it returned. I used the gallery view which displays 30 ads per page. The search returned 17 pages. Thats 210 within 50 miles which I would have to say isn’t too bad coming from the midwest. Looks like JustSayHi has gotten a few more online daters since the last check up.

I just found a pretty cool feature that I was not previously aware of and looks to be new and useful. They call it their, “Mutual Match” finder. They seem to have an efficient way for finding people who you’re interested and try to make a connection. Here is how it works.

1. They show you people, 1 at a time, who match your search preferences
2. For each person you select Yes, No, or Maybe when asked if you are interested in meeting
3. If you select Yes or Maybe they show them your profile and ask them if they want to meet you
4. If they select Yes, you have a Mutual Match

I think it sounds like a pretty easy way to browse some profiles and get the ball rolling without having to be very aggressive. I went through the steps and it wasn’t too bad. We’ll see if any are interested in a few days.

Last but not least, it’s time to take a look at Alexa Rankings for JustSayHi.com. Here are their current rankings.

• Global: 7,378
• US: 1,590

JustSayHi’s global reach has gone up 231% in the past three months. They have also jumped 15,844 spots for their global ranking. Those are not bad numbers at all for a new online dating website.

AdultMatchDoctor.com has been in the adult dating world for a little while so I thought we should take a look. One their homepage I noticed a slogan. It says, “100% free to contact, flirt, connect, and get laid!” So I want to check it out and see how true that statement is as far being a Free Dating Site . First, lets go through the ad posting process and see what it entails.

After the very first page, you have a 5-step post to complete your adult dating ad. The 5 steps are as follows.

1. Sign-Up Info
2. Profile
3. Essays – 21 essay parts
4. Ideal Match
5. My Photos

Notice the 21 parts to the essays page!!!! You do not have to fill out all of them, but if you are going to create a profile here, you probably should go ahead and fill it out completely. That section will definitely take you the longest.

After you have completed all of those sections, you now have your personal ad on AdultMatchDoctor. Its time to start dating! You will notice pretty quickly that there is a such thing as Gold Members? I thought it was 100% free? Well as a free member you are allowed the following;

• Emails
• Blogs
• Forums
• Email Filters
• Winks
• and more….

Thats not too bad for free. But what does the mean the Gold Members get? What are the payment options? I think you will find the payment options to be pretty reasonable. I usually consider and adult dating site to be inexpensive when the monthly membership is under $30/month. Here are your options.

• 1 year @ $6.67/month ($79.95)
• 6 months @ $8.33/month ($49.95)
• 3 months @ $11.65/month ($34.95)
• 1 month @ $19.95/month ($19.95/month)

Again, very reasonable prices. Seeing as they give you so much as a free member, you’re probably wondering what features could they possible offer you as a Gold Member. Here are you additional benefits to becoming a paying member.

• initiate instant messages
• see who has viewed your profile
• view all nude pics
• photo filtering of nude men/women
• highlighted profile
• show up first in search results
• private photo album

It seems like you get access to a lot of the more desireable features to an adult dating site as a paid member. At such a low cost it might be worth it to consider the upgrade.

There is one more aspect I want to look at in regards to AdultMatchDoctor. That is their traffic rankings. After all, we want to know that there actually are other people on the site other than us. Just a quick reminder when looking at Alexa rankings. The lower the number the better. For example, AdultFriendFinder.com has a ranking of 69 and HornyMatches.com has a ranking of 844. Here are the rankings for AdultMatchDoctor.

• Global – 56,231
• US – 11,647

As a rule of thumb I usually say stay away from sites above 10,000 however, there are some other numbers to take into account here that aren’t always the case. When looking at their rankings for the last 3 months, it has increased by 15,000!!! That’s quite a few. So that tells me they are on the ups. So I wouldn’t discount AdultMatchDoctor. I might actually consider it even more seeing as if their popularity increases at this rate for a while, they may increase rates. Just a thought.

The questions serve as a matchmaking system. When answering questions, you select your answer and what you would want in your partner. After you have answered a certain amount of these questions, they start to develop a match profile and can fit you with other singles on the dating site. I answered a few questions and still didn’t get a very good “percentage” complete. For them to have a good understanding of your personality, you would probably have to answer over 100 questions. If you use the personals site often that really wouldn’t be too hard.

OkCupid is completely free and at no point that I noticed are you asked to signup or pay for anything while on their site. The overall profile is pretty in-depth and could take a little while to create. You are allowed to post pictures obviously. They want them to be of your face only which is a little different. After you upload the picture, they ask you to crop the picture so it’s pretty much just your face. They will delete innapproriate pictures so I would make sure and read what is acceptable for your personal ad.

Their traffic rankings are pretty solid. According to Alexa, their Global traffic raking is 3,519. Their US rank is 726 with 56% of their overall traffic coming from the United States! That’s a pretty good rank which means this dating site should have a lot of members searching for singles.

Once you have activated your profile you are free to roam about the site and start meeting singles or whatever you are on the site for. There are basic features on the site. You can invite friends to join by entering your email address and sending them an invite. You can search for people who fit your criteria. You can also do advanced searches for singles as well. JustSayHi will actually find matches that they think are a fit for you so you’ll have a “matches” tab with people you might be interested in.

When search results are displayed, you have several options. You can simply check out their profile, send them an email, or let them know you are interested. All features are free at JustSayHi. I am not sure yet if there are limitations to how many members you can message per day, but so far I have not run into anything like that. I searched and messaged a member and got a REAL response back very quickly. That member was online at the moment, but it is good to see that there are people out there using the site as intended.

I also was browsing through the community area. This is for dating, general topics, sex, and whatever else you want. People start a topic and post their comments for others to read and discuss. One of the topics of discussion was innapropriate photos. The owner or admin was saying that apparently members were temporarily uploading nude pictures of themselves then removing them. That will most likely get you kicked off the site and banned so I would not recommend it. The admin did say something about adding a private chat messaging area where members will be able to send those kinds of pictures if they wish. He did state that this is not a sex dating website or adult dating community. It looks like they will have that option in the future though. I assume they need to in order to stay competitive in the world of online dating and matchmaking.

As far as their traffic is concerned, JustSayHi is a pretty highly rated website on alexa. With a Global ranking of 8,620 and a United States ranking of 1,735. Not bad at all for either I’d say. Now US ranking is so high that you would assume that the site is primarily made up of US traffic. About 33% of their overall traffic does come from the US. The second most significant country is the United Kingdom with only about 5% so the rest must be distributed across many other countries. Kind of a strange traffic breakdown for an online dating website.

Datehookup is starting to get a lot more attention in the online dating world. A lot of the attention could be from the fact that they are almost at the very top of online dating searches from search engines like Google. This dating site boasts that it is 100% free and that is completely correct. They offer many of the normal features that you would expect to find as a premium(paying) member on other dating sites. These features include instant messaging, emailing, posting pictures, dating ideas, and others.

The unique features of Date Hookup definitely has to be the dating ideas and singles forums. Dating ideas are just what it sounds like. You can read helpful posts/articles that can aid you in your single searching experience. Singles forums is a great place where you can read and discuss certain subjects with other singles. Other dating features that are not as unique are your own blog, adding your friends, and customizing your ad. Most of those features are common among almost all dating sites online today.

Their alexa ranking looks pretty bad globally, but is pretty decent when just looking at the US, which makes up about 84% of their traffic. Datehookup’s global Alexa ranking is 35,055 and their US ranking is 3,857. Quite a difference. The second most prominate country on Datehookup is Canada which makes up about 5% of the overall traffic.

Their traffic ranking among other adult dating sites is much better than I thought it would be. On Alexa, they have a global ranking of 1,825 and a very impressive US ranking of 623! This puts them up there with adult dating sites like fling, hornymatches, and others. Again, I was not expecting such strong numbers from Amateur Match. I would have to say, this adult site looks to be worth its members while. Expecially for the non-paying visitors.
