Mingle2.com Free Dating Site
It’s been a little while since a new site has been reviewed for this site and that’s simply because I haven’t seen any others out there worth adding in a while. Now I’ve been aware of Mingle2.com for quite some time now. Probably about 18 months, but finally decided to take a closer look. I know the creator of the site has extensive experience with search engine optimization and was or is a creator of Seomoz.org(Seo site). I’m also very sure that the creator of Mingle2 has a hand in JustSayHi.com. Anyway, let’s get to know the dating site…..
So I made a profile. It was very quick and painless. Not a ton sections to complete. Just the basics. Mingle2 operates really well. The pages and site flow together nicely and seem to work very well as a whole which is a bit surprising considering the massive amounts of advertisements plastered all over the dating site. They have Google Adsense, Mate1, JustSayHi, and plenty other dating site ads up. This makes me think that the focus of this site isn’t the dating community thats signed up here, but to make a couple extra bucks by driving traffic elsewhere. (This proves my point that the owner is occupied and focused on JustSayHi, not Mingle2)
The features of Mingle2 are basic and not too exciting. You have your typical search and advanced search, matches, forums, and a mailbox. That’s really all there is to it. The best feature would have to be the “Mutual Matches” system. This is the same as JustSayHi’s match finding method. You simply scroll through members and check whether or not you are interested in them or not. If they respond interested, you now have a Mutual Match.
Let’s take a look at the traffic details for this site thanks to Alexa. Note that this site has been climbing in ranking steadily since about June of 2008 and hasn’t stopped yet.

Hi, in reading your review of Mingle2, i noticed there is a bit of confusion. Mingle2 is basically JustSayHi, with a name change. It is the same site, same owners, just with a different new look. It is a very fast growing website with members joining every day. As you noted, Mingle2 is absolutely free. Those ads pay for the site. The owners and administrators of Mingle2 are very friendly and approachable. I should know, I am the lead forum moderator, so i speak with them regularly. It is a well tended site, very easy to navigate, and one i am proud to be a part of. We have a feedback forum, where members can make suggestions and those suggestions are considered and often implemented. We have a help forum, where members can find answers to their questions. These are good people, they will go the extra mile in keeping the members happy, and i think that is why Mingle2 is one of the fastest growing free dating sites on the web.
Thank you for your review, and the opportunity to voice my opinion,
Mark
I appreciate the clarification and the feedback. The site does operate very well. I am still surprised by the number of ads simply because justsayhi didn’t seem to have as many. Thanks!
Ive noticed they have integrated the Google adds so well you don’t realize you are even clicking them. They seem like part of the site. In fact, all the advertising is integrated really well. This is just smart website design and I’m sure they do well in converting clicks. My only question is that I think its against Google’s Terms to Hide the “Ads by Google” that you usually see associated with their adds. Right?
Free dating sites have many other advantages. Members do not pay any money for using the dating service.
I was recently banned from Mingle2. The Site is one big clique. Individuals with strong and valid opinons are not popular and end up being banned. Administration claims The Site is one of the fastest growing on The Web. Not true. Members are leaving fast. Why? They are not allowed to express their individuality on The Site. Administration and The Mods are over zealous. If you don’t conform to the Mingle2 way of thinking, you will be banned. If you treasure your individuality, avoid Mingle2. be seeing you
We do not ban members, without reason. I have moderated forums for years, and am now, a site administrator. Decorum prohibits, any further discussion of your issue. I can only add, that any website, would be quite foolish to exile any member, without serious provocation/evidence. We simply will not provide that information to the general public.

Do you always post articles like this?
Thanks I needed this.
This website is full of biased mods promote cyber bullying and flaming of member that they do not like. While the mods can be seen defending the site all you need to do to test this is go post on this site. Just to test the theory post (respectful) posts that don’t go along with the popular consensus. They LOVE drama so it won’t take long for you to get on their radar. I was even warned by other member to watch what I posted in the political area. All one needs to do is research this websites reviews to see how many people post the EXACT same story and then here comes the same mods saying it’s all lies. Let me tell you something, posting reviews all over the internet is time consuming, you better believe that if someone wasted the time to go around writing all these reviews they are factual. This site really is bogus and I truly hope that all the members leave showing the mods that you cannot run a site like that and expect people to stay.
yeah I coulda wrote that better.. lol jk!
i would say this, have a mind of your own and try it.. if you like it stay, if you feel you cant follow the rules leave..
i joined just say hi in the first few months they made the site.. and yes i am still on there. the change of having rules was hard for me as well. but with a growing site changes had to occur. yes some people are extra humm offended easily , i agree and its annoying however live with it, cause that is life. i have been “spanked” on there myself sometimes i agreed sometimes not. no one will agree on everything. now as far as being “banned” you are warned several times.. first! for the same bs.. continue on disrespecting the rules and no one has to put up with it. if you are smart enough you will be able to tell the difference between disagreeing with people and turning it into an all out argument with name calling etc. or these are the only ones i have seen get banned from the site. who wants to go to a site for new friends, or perhaps a possibility of finding a partner and read a bunch of arguing?
i am not a mod on mingle2 .and i dont feel that the mods are above me either. as a matter of fact i have disagreed with some of the threads mods have made or with a comment they have made and made it known.. yes without a warning or being banned!
as far as a comment to the creator of this review..another correction.. when it was just say hi there were no mutual matches this came in when all the sites joined.. and i am not sure how accurate this is but it was at the time 3 sites into one.. just say hi, then one plus you came second.. i dont recall the third.. however when it was just say hi.. it was “a place to meet new FRIENDS” was the motto.. but they did have all the same choices as they do now as mingle2 on what you are here for to me mingle did good by leaving the option there as” here for friends” to include all the people that were originally there just looking for friends.
